Michigan’s connectivity problem means large areas of the state are unable to access high-speed internet. Limited competition among service providers, geographic challenges such as difficult terrain, and a lack of incentive to invest in networks serving limited numbers of subscribers are among the reasons why many regions lack high-quality broadband infrastructure.

Keith Castelino and Wade Wulster will join the Merit Member Conference panel to debate how Merit’s Project MOON-Light (Michigan open optical network-leveraging innovation to get high-speed technology for all) can harness an all-coherent architecture, supported by advanced tooling systems, to address Michigan’s connectivity gap.
