Passive optical network (PON) technology has overtaken legacy copper access network solutions because it offers higher bandwidth capacity, improved cost-efficiency and a more robust, future-proof infrastructure. However, despite PON’s clear advantages over older electrical-based connections, until now, troubleshooting has been more difficult than in DSL or cable networks with only limited tools available.
In this session, Robert Conger will join a panel of experts drawn from industry and academia to explore the future of PON infrastructure monitoring and the impact of coherent PON on the access network. Robert will also reveal how Adtran’s innovative ALM deep PON assurance platform enables communications service providers to locate and repair access network fiber faults quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.
