Core OLS
Open and reconfigurable optical networks
In transport technology, continual change is the only constant. That’s why networks must be built on an open, flexible and scalable optical layer – ready to accommodate evolving demand and the latest innovations. Our FSP 3000 Core OLS is designed to deliver truly open optical transport solutions that address next-generation metro to long-haul network requirements with ease and efficiency. Featuring a modular design, application-optimized technology and automated procedures, it provides high-capacity, reconfigurable optical layer solutions with unmatched flexibility and operational simplicity. What’s more, with an open architecture disaggregated from the optical terminals, the FSP 3000 Core OLS seamlessly transports FSP 3000 and third-party wavelengths, as well as optical spectrum services without technology or vendor lock-in.
Eliminate vendor and technology lock-in
With a truly open design, the FSP 3000 Core OLS enables operators to reap the full benefits of open optical networking.

A flexible and highly scalable ROADM architecture easily accommodates evolving network demands.
Scalability with low initial investment
With its modular architecture, our FSP 3000 Core OLS supports pay-as-you-grow expansion while minimizing first-in costs.

Flexible and easy to operate
Featuring high-resolution flexgrid ROADMs, the FSP 3000 Core OLS creates a flexible optical layer that efficiently transports high-speed wavelengths and spectrum services. FSP 3000 ROADMs have a modular and scalable architecture that supports various degree sizes, amplification methods and add/drop configurations, allowing operators to efficiently meet evolving transport requirements now and in the future. As network demands grow, add/drop capacity can be increased without impacting existing traffic. The high-resolution flexible grid facilitates transport of high-speed, high-baud rate signals with maximum spectral efficiency. Moreover, the FSP 3000 ROADMs support optical spectrum services, unlocking new revenue opportunities. Automated procedures further optimize optical performance while minimizing operational complexity.
Maximize fiber capacity on demand
With an optional, modular L-band extension, operators can instantly double the transport capacity of their fiber – precisely when and where it’s needed.

Future-ready optical networking with SDN and automation
The FSP 3000 Core OLS features monitoring and automation tools to streamline optical layer operations, simplify troubleshooting and minimize operational costs. Additionally, optional optical protection and restoration mechanisms keep services running even after failures such as fiber cuts. These capabilities empower the FSP 3000 Core OLS to meet the most stringent availability requirements. And with EDFA and combined EDFA-Raman amplification options, it ensures robust performance and high-speed transport even over long distances. What’s more, the FSP 3000 Core OLS offers open YANG-based APIs for easy integration into SDN environments and an optical supervisory channel (OSC) for in-band management with our Mosaic Network Controller software suite.
